Architectural Heritage
An ancient Islamic fortress, it is mentioned in historical sources from the 10th century onwards. It is irregular in plan and is built of rammed earth( taipa) covered with Grés de Silves (sandstone) blocks. It has ten towers, two of which are of the albarran type. The access to the towers is via the patrol path and the entrance to the building is through a double door with a gallery.
Inside, two water storage devices can be seen, the Algibe (cistern)standing out, as well as silos and ruins of old Palatine dwellings.
