Almohad cistern
This device for the collection and storage of water is built in Grés de Silves blocks. It has a circular plan and is surrounded by a spiral staircase that allows access to its interior. It has three windows that allow its ventilation and illumination. The opening measures c. 2.45m in diameter and the depth is c. 18m, which reaches the phreatic level.
Built during the Almohad period to supply the upper part of the city, it was completely blocked in the 16th century.
