The pedestrian route starts at Rocha, on a dirt road with a sharp rise, and passes next to an interpretive board on Geology (on the left). The path progressively becomes easier as it continues to the top. When reaching the top, we strongly recommend a stroll to the North Viewpoint, positioned at the end of this rock formation. The access to it is marked on site. From here, it is possible to admire the southern flank of the Caldeirão Mountain.
Returning to the main route, we head to the Plateau, an extensive trail that presents, in several points, a comprehensive view towards southeast, south and southwest. In some sections, the route continues along the southern end of the Plateau. Among the shrub vegetation and some of the trees that stand out in it, we reach the Wall, which we go around, following more or less closely the edge of the cliff. The views remain magnificent and culminate when we ascend to the Talefe (altitude: 479m), at the South Viewpoint.
Here begins the descent that will take us to Penina. In this village, you can visit the mini-museum that exists there and explore its built heritage (for example, a chimney dating from 1821). From this village, an old path originates followed by another one, more rustic and irregular, that together run along, although at a distance, for almost the entire length of the cliff, allowing us to perceive its configuration, size and magnificence. The route ends when it
reaches Rocha. Here, it is possible to find the present Information Board, the Fountain and the parking lot.
